It has been a couple of years since Tyler has had to assemble a gift! So this year he plunged right in and went all out. We bought a 4-in-one game table for the boys for Christmas. Of course it was "some assembly required"! Or should I say "all assembly required". In fact, the directions said to allow 4-6 hours for putting it together! So Christmas eve Tyler called his buddy Kevin who came down to help with the build. They started about 9:30pm and aided by caffeine and music and testosterone finished about 12:30am. They were so excited they beat the predicted assembly time- until they went to move it from the living room to the bedroom to hide it. Guess what?! Yep- it would not fit through any doorways in the house. So they had to "dis-assemble" it to get it through the doors to the basement. Needless to say, once we set it up in the boys' room on Christmas morning it will be staying put for awhile!
Gotta love those 'some assembly required' toys!!!! We got away without that this year as we purchased a Wii for our family treat. (our house was the main present this year!!!) Although, I did admonish the guys to please read the directions before figuring out how it worked!!!
