The All Star team went to the USSSA Colorado State Championship tournament the middle of July. They played against 15 other 9 and under teams over the course of three days. A couple of the teams were nationally ranked. They lost their first game on Saturday morning to a team from Brighton, CO. The boys then had to work their way back through the losers bracket. They played their hearts out and ended up winning the whole thing! They championship game was against the same team from Brighton they lost to earlier (who was apparently ranked 15th in the nation in the USSSA baseball association rankings). The game went 8 innings and came down to a bases loaded, two outs, and the full count pitch to their big hitter scenario. It was an exciting win- you know the moms cried!
Here are some pictures taken during that weekend-
When they got that last out and realized they won- I love the gloves being thrown up and them running in!
